Jennifer Lopez gets super High Fashion for "Live It Up"

I absolutely love when high fashion and music come together.

On Friday, May 17th, 2013, Jennifer Lopez released her latest video for her new song "Live It Up" feat. Pitbull.  J.Lo had many different looks throughout the video including what I call the now memorable Red Body Suit with Giant Sleeves, which, by the way, seems to be familiar.  Definitely editorial and perfect for a music video!

Product placements were also part of this video including Swarovski sunglasses and an Ice watch.

She also performed the song on Friday on American Idol with Pitbull.

The song for sure is a party summer jam!

Check out some of the photos below!

Here's the body suit. The boots reminded me of Kinky Boots.

Chanel + the Globe

Back in March, during Paris Fashion Week, Chanel literally took over the globe with its punk inspired Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection.  What can I say, Chanel's Runway shows are always fantastic surrealistic works of art that complement all of its collections and generates tons of press for the brand.

From an under the ocean theme back 2011 in to the inside of an airplane to the Paris-Bombay Métiers d'Art Show, Chanel always is always surprising and impressing us.  But for its Fall 2013 Show,  the house decided to literally take over the globe, literally.  At the center of the circular runway, a giant and detailed globe was placed at the of the venue, making a huge and an unforgettable statement.  I know it is May, but I still had to write about this!

Not only was the globe the center of the runway.  The collection also integrates the globe idea into bags that are sure to be part of editorial pieces for the Fall.

In terms of the collection, its dark and urban, punk and rebellious city chic style (the boots of course) gave the pieces a youthful feel to the collection.  Oversize coats, grays, blacks, and reds were the signature touches in the collection, classic colors for the Fall.

So, why would Chanel use the globe as part of its show? Chanel is one of the most powerful, successful and recognized fashion houses in the world.  It was a matter of time before taking over the world. Scratch that. They probably already did.

Below is the video of the Runway Show:

She's Back! Madonna went all Punk for the Met Ball 2013

Madonna went all punk at last night's Met Gala 2013.  The Queen of Pop truly got the memo about the event's theme, wearing a cool studded Givenchy jacket, fishnets, lots of chains and pink Casadei blade heels.  I heard she caused a Twitter frenzy and today she also appeared on the cover of WWD.  Now, that is an awesome way to get tons of publicity and make a huge statement! Love her or hate her, Madonna always finds a way to make people talk.

Want to get creative for the Weekend? Decorate your left over Altoids boxes.

I buy a lot of Altoids (well once in a while), and for the past several months I have accumulated a bunch of them.  Some of them are even from last year.  I've been trying to find something to do with them for a long time, but I never knew what to do with them, until last weekend.

On Sunday, I was looking around my room, trying to do some Spring cleaning, when once again I came across a bunch of Altoids boxes that I've been having for months.  So using some of the Duct Tape I purchased last week at the Pop Up store (check post below) and Essie's "sleek stick nail appliques" (Yes, nail stickers!), I got a little creative with my boxes. Check the results below!!

 Essie's Love to Love You

I hope this small and simple project inspires you to do some Arts + Crafts.
